I've been told that names have meanings. I wonder, though, how do people create these meanings? My parents told me that they got my name from the Bible and ( I read it later on anyway) that it meant 'gazelle'. I also found out that my name is an Aramic (or something like that) name and the Greek version is Dorcas. Why my parents did not name me 'Princess Consuela' or 'Mentos' is quite obvious since I am not a princess and it would sound silly to name me after a brand of candy. Besides, I like my name just as it is!
PS. I was also told that the person who had the same name in the Bible actually died and was resurrected after that. (Acts chapter 9) Hmmm... wow! Also, a few people fail to pronounce it properly and I even wound up getting called names like 'Tapioca', 'Tibeta' (which sounds alot like 'Tibet'), 'Tellytubby' (by a nurse) and even 'Jupiter'! Sigh... there's certainly no end is there? Being mistakenly named a vegetable, a country, a TV character in a toddler's show, a planet...Oh no! What next?!
