Names

Well...everyone should have a name, because it gives them an identity. If there was no such thing as names, people would be going like,"OI!Come here!" or "Ah, come over for a minute," and that would sound weird and unspecific.Imagine the world then, becuse nobody would know when they are being called upon. Although my parents had a long time deciding on my name, they did not call me Princess Consuela or Mentos because I am not royalty, Consuela sounds really weird, exotic and foreign, and I am not a sweet. Worse still, people might not be able to pronounce it. The people I meet would probably go like,"er, really mentos, as in the sweet?" Then they would start teasing me.
According to my mother, my parents had a real long time deciding because they could not agree. They chose Clarissa because they originally wanted Clare, but then my mother said that Clare Poh sounds a bit weird and I might get teased. Clarissa means bright, so it was fine with them, they wanted something with a 'nice' meaning. Now, a lot of people call me Clare so it does not really matter. Even chinese names are taken into consideration. Overall, I think names are very important.
