For me, i think that Polycarp was just a part of the setting of the garden. You know, typical foreigner's garden. DWARFS! I think not many people in Singapore have dwarfs ruling over their garden or something. Like HELLO? Who would like their garden to be ruled over by something that is not even a living organism? Unless you mean like the owner controls it or something. Like do you think the owner is sooo free that he/ she would drag a chair over to the garden just to talk to it or just to make it seem more life- like, the owner starts trying to make the dwarf move and maybe in the process breaking the dwarf's arm or leg. Ouch. Poor dwarf. Haha. I want to rule over my own garden! Though sometimes too much power/ control might be bad for your health and soon you realise that all your hair is falling out. HA. Really. I think Polycarp's only there for decorations. To 'spice' up the garden; make it seem nicer? Yeah Polycarp can't even defend himself against ONE TINY LITTLE BUG. Hey was Herr Resch a bit out of his mind? Possibly hallucinating or something? Or is he delirious? For him, Polycarp was even more important than the a REAL LIVING person. Weird.
