Here are my reflections on AWIT:
1)Why Meg was not like the twins, Sandy and Dennys? How come she could not get along with people but they could?
2)How did Charles Wallace read Meg's and Mrs.Murry's mind?
3)Why did everyone except Meg and Mrs.Murry think that Charles Wallace was dumb while he could speak full sentences at a young age and his IQ was higher than the average boy.

1. Meg and Charles differ wildly from their other two siblings, Sandy and Dennis. This is awkward as most siblings are like each other.
2. Charles has talents that no one else possesses. How? Why?
3. Meg's father is not to be found. Although Meg's mother knows why, she does not tell Meg.
4. Calvin also possesses the talent of his mind telling him what to do. What talent does Meg have?
5. Mrs Who, Which and What do not seem to be what they are. They know about the tesseract, which is related to Meg's father.

1. I think that Meg was having trouble with the other children as she had set up a lot of emotional barriers for herself at school, thus making it hard for her to obey all of the teacher's instructions.
2. I also wonder how Charles Wallace could read Meg and her mother's minds.
3.I am also wondering why Cahrles Wallace acted dumb in front of strangers but did not do the same in front of his family members.
4.At first, I was wondering what mission did the government send him on.
5. I also wondered why Meg's mother could control herself and not shed a tear whenever Mr. Murray was mentioned but Meg could not.

1. Meg has very low self-esteem(did I spell this correctly?)as she always thought herself as worse than others or thought she did not look as pretty as her mother
2. Meg is very close to her father (obviously). As Christel said in class, Meg always said "If father was here" or something like that.
3. I feel that many people in this class will feel the same way about the math methods in school. I was taught by my mother methods and shortcuts on topics that were a few levels higher. I could not stand using the methods in the textbooks.
4. Why does Charles Wallace and Calvin have this type of 6th sense that tells them what is going to happen or the need to go to some place? Remember that they are both spots.
5. AND... when you read the story the first time, you will wonder what is a tessaract.
6. Charles Wallace is smart in a quiet type of way.

Meg and Charles were definitely different from the other people. Meg seems unable to hide her feelings and does everything wrong. Charles has an uncanny way of reading people's minds. Unlike the two characters I have mentioned, Mrs Murry, Sandy and Dennys all seem to be perfect and they have no problem in doing things right.
1)Why doesn't Meg tell Mr Jenkins that the reason she does badly at Math is because she is 'too good' at it?
2)Why weren't Meg angry or sad when she told Calvin about her father at Cape Canaveral?

1) Sandy, Dennys, Meg and Cahrles Wallace are all siblings. Why are they so different? Only Sandy and Dennys are alike.
2) At first, i did not understand the story. Many parts of the story are explained deeper in the book.
3) Meg comes from a NOT well-to-do family as she has to sleep in the ATTIC!

6) Why do Whatsit, Who and Which give themselves such a weird name? Wouldn't a more humanish name be better?

I think I might be adding more along the way if I have the time.
I think the word tesseract might be a bit misleading. A tesseract, in math and science terminology, is real but in this story, the tesseract is not a cube in the fourth dimension. It is a time and space tesseract and I think this might have caused a bit of misunderstanding.

3)Why do the Murry kids have so many differences? I thought that siblings would usually have the same looks as their parents and be like each other.

6)I think the Murry family missed Mr. Murry very much, as they kept on relating to him (eg. "Your father and I...", "Father would have expected us to...")
7)I think Meg was tormented so much at school that she had reached a point of not caring anymore. I say this as when her teacher asked her to go to the principal's office, she obliged without objecting or saying anything else. She had also developed a hostile attitude towards the principal, not revealing anything about her feelings and making the conversation short and somewhat rude.
8)I think Calvin was a very open guy as he was able to change his conception of Charles and Meg from dumb kids to strange smart ones fairly quickly. In short, he was ready to accept and believe things.

Explanation of Tessering
Just like we,3D, can bend paper,2D so that two points touch, a 4D person should be able to bend space, 3D, so that two points touch.
Raj, if you continue your hypothesis, then tessering,5D, can bend time,4D, and I think you believe that would be 6D.
Ryan, I do not understand you. What do you mean? Please explain.
Ryan, that is what they mean by tessering being able to bend both space and time.
However, this is paradoxical as we cannot bend a line. This is analogous to a 'tesserer' bending space.
However, I do not understand the part about it being 6D.
Please elaborate.
