Hi Everyone,

Congratulations on winning the semi-finals! The finals will be held this Friday, after the assembly in the hall. All the P5 classes will be the audience. I have sent some research to your email accounts.

Pr 5/11 - Opposition

Presentation on Ancient Greece
Hope you are ready for the presentation tomorrow. I wouls like to see every member of the group playing a part in the presentation. Here is an image of an ancient Greek costume.

Excited to see your presentations tomorrow. Remember it should only be 10 minutes long.

About the presentation, do we really need a bed sheet?

I used a piece of cloth.

Erm, how are we supposed to use a bed sheet to make such a complicated attire? It looks as though we will need three bed sheets to make that!

Yeah, I agree with you, Alex. That is way too complicated to make pout of one bed sheet

In my opinion, the proposition in this case, has more points to bring up and therefore, has a slight advantage. 5/11, be sure to gun them down. It is the content that matters. Do bring up statistics. The notes from Mrs. Simon might help.

Alex, you just wrap yourself in cloth, that's all. men's wear are easy, whereas women's wear are much more complicated. all the pins and stuff

I agree with you, Ryan. However, more points also means more things to rebut, so 5/11 must look out for them and deliver a good rebuttal. However, we as 5/12 will show no mercy.

5/11, no matter what happens, we are game on! Bring it on! We are not afraid of you. It would be quite a tense match in such an arena. Everyone in P5 is watching, save for the absentees. Statistics, as usual might win the battle again. Do not just state one example and quote the source of statistics. Do take note of the time and refrain from being penalised unreasonably for using too much time.I feel 2 minutes is far too little time to rebut. Keep it short and sweet. Wonder what points everybody is going to bring up. I am holding myself back not to spill the beans and asking for points.

By the way, after this debate, I suppose we are all still friends, okay, this is only a minor debate, no cash rewards of 1 000 000 000, so don't go crazy if you do lose. Winning is not everything. Exposure to the world of debate is the main objective for this inter-class debate. Wits and Words (WAW) debaters, remember the adjudicator told everyone to switch off the phones but in this debate, pupils are asked to keep silent. It sounds so funny. They should know we are quite talkative and no debate is silent. Oops, cash reward should be 1 000.
